Power is provided by a 4-Stroke, 1170cc, Air / Oil cooled, OHV, Flat Twin engine with Electric starter. The engine is paired with a 6-Speed Manual transmission and total fuel capacity is 4.6 gallons. The R 1200 R rides on Aluminum wheels with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and a 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. The front suspension is a Telescopic Fork while the rear suspension is a Single Sided Swing Arm.
Front Dual Hydraulic Disc brakes and rear Hydraulic Disc brakes provide for the stopping power. The R 1200 R comes standard with a One-Piece, 2-passenger seating.
